Today News-Decoder is launching a fund-raising campaign to ensure we keep growing so we can become the world’s pre-eminent news service and global forum for young people.
We have made excellent progress since we launched two years ago. Now we want to raise our game even more.
We have built a community of thousands of young people who are tackling the critical issues of our time: human rights, conflict, climate change, migration, fake news.
Our world-class correspondents have written hundreds of articles on countless important topics, making a pro bono contribution worth tens of thousands of euros in our fight against fake news.
We’ve started to generate revenue with paid subscriptions from top schools and universities, and we have an exclusive contract to write stories for the African News Agency. We’re now living up to our promise to pay our correspondents.

But we need to reach a larger community of young people across the globe and ensure that our project becomes sustainable.
Although we have clinched partnerships with 14 schools and universities in eight countries, we have none in Africa, Latin America or Asia-Pacific.
Because we are growing, responsibilities are now outstripping resources. We need specialized talent to attract new subscriptions and to approach foundations that share our mission.
We’ve kept a lid on running costs, ensuring revenue supports what counts: creating trustworthy journalism and better global citizens.
We are asking readers and followers to consider making a donation, whatever size. Even modest donations help the cause. A recurring monthly donation, like a subscription, is a terrific vote of confidence.
You can sponsor a future story — with your name printed at the bottom of the article, or that of someone you’d like to honor — by donating $200 or more. With a donation of $500, you can sponsor a webinar for our students.
Christmas is around the corner – give the gift of un-fake news!
There has never been a greater need for young people to get involved in current affairs, to make their voices heard and to sort fact from fiction.
We promise to keep you up-to-date on our progress as we tackle our third year of operations.
Thank you for your support.
