News-Decoder is a global educational news service based in Paris, France. We are currently accepting applications for the following position:

Communications Manager

News-Decoder is looking to hire a Communications Manager to foster and manage the organization’s communications with our stakeholders and prospective clients and to direct external communications via our news site and social media channels.

Client Relations:

The Communications Manager works closely with our key stakeholders: founder Nelson Graves, our academic partners and media partners, and our trustees and advisors. The successful candidate will help drive ongoing projects with these stakeholders and identify and develop opportunities with new partners.

Currently we have 16 partner schools, spread across 10 countries, which pay an annual fee to be part of our community. A substantial part of the job is devoted to working in tandem with the founder to support these relationships, specifically working with the Student Ambassadors who represent News- Decoder at their schools. The Student Ambassadors are critical links between News-Decoder and the schools, and our success depends in large part on their contributions, which in turn hinge on the relationship between our Communications Manager and the students.

In addition, the successful candidate will spearhead our partnership with UK charity in producing a joint podcast series called The Kids Are Alright. The Communications Manager is the project manager of the series and is tasked with developing unique storylines; communicating with teams of reporters, guest interviewees and producers; and setting and meeting deadlines.

Content Marketing:

The Communications Manager works to increase readership and engagement on our news site and social media platforms and to foster strong communication with existing and prospective clients. The successful candidate plays an important role in shaping and executing News-Decoder’s social media strategy, which entails managing News-Decoder’s multiple social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn). The successful candidate designs and creates educational resources, marketing collateral, sales presentations and fresh web content as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or marketing-related field
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated experience creating marketing content with Photoshop or Adobe Suites or other platforms. Experience producing audio and video content a plus
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms and email marketing (MailChimp)
  • Knowledge of WordPress and graphic design experience a plus
  • Keen interest in making a global impact at a not-for-profit and passion for our mission

Candidates must be willing to commit to at least one year and be eligible to work legally in France. No French is required.
