Landscape designer Chris Hendershot traveled to Mali in 2015 and has shared with us photographs that he took while in the West African country.

At the time, Hendershot was a graduate student at the Conway School of Landscape Design, helping the non-profit Mali Nyeta develop a landscape adaptation strategy for two rural villages, Djangoula Kita and Djangoula Foulala.

You can read a News-Decoder article about Mali Nyeta by Christopher Alexander Gellert here.

Hendershot’s photographs capture arresting images of humanity within a larger landscape. We are pleased to publish some of his most vivid shots.
